FishingThe Hamina region has some excellent sea and river fishing. Please remember that a permit is usually required.Fishing and jigging are allowed if you are a local or a visitor, except in rapids and flowing streams containing salmon and whitefish. This applies to almost all the rivers in the Hamina region, including the Summanjoki and Vehkajoki. The almost 400 islands of the Hamina region offer visitors space, peaceful nature and idyllic boat harbours. There are several landing sites for private boats and scheduled ferry service in summertime from Tervasaari jetty to the islands of Tammio and Ulko-Tammio.
